When Det. Roger Frey’s partner Jim is found dead in an alleyway, he makes it a personal mission to find his killer despite the chiefs admonition to stay out of it! Naturally Emlyn, Rogers friend and neighbor wants to use her newly found skills to find the culprit. A great story of suspense with a handful of humor thrown in for good measure. The Magic of Murder is a wonderful introduction to the Emlyn Goode series but watch out for Elvira she’s got catitude!!!! 5 star read
