Follow their inspiring story of faith and service, set in fascinating times and places in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres.

Review From Sea to Sea by Nelda B. Gaydou

This is a wonderful tribute to an extraordinary family as the author takes the reader on a fifty plus year odyssey. It follows their winding journey on a world-wide adventure. Using vignettes, Gaydou highlights the remarkable exploits of her family as they work and travel in the United States, South America, and Europe. Along the way she introduces the reader to spectacular people who made a real difference in the lives of those around them.
This is a story of love and friendship against the backdrop of some of the most dramatic events of the late twentieth century in the South Cone. Along the way the author peppers her narrative with historical tidbits to help the reader understand the circumstances of what is happening in the United States, Argentina, and their surrounding neighbors. Not just along for the ride, she showcases how her family was intertwined with the events, cultures, and people.
Through her stories Gaydou highlights how the various cultures have coalesced to create Argentina and how her family has become part of that mixture of North American, Spanish, Italian, German, etc. cultures which makes the world such a delightful place.

Review of One Night in Daytona Beach

Gangs, Bikes and Babes

Who writes a strip tease scene with Marilyn Manson playing in the background? Author Dellani Oakes that’s who! This is by far my favorite book she’s written yet! A Night in Daytona Beach is the story of Draven Wick, an actor who is happens to be at Daytona’s infamous Bike Week when he stumbles into a hot redhead doing a sexy routine on a motorcycle. At the request of the female spectators, he does his own routine alongside her when he discovers she is Jamie Humphrey, a long, lost love from a decade ago. From their first meeting to their first date, there is sexual tension that threatens to send readers to the showers in order to hose down. Yes, it’s that hot!

After their first sexual encounter Jamie discovers that Draven hasn’t been completely honest with her and is in real danger after a mysterious phone call. I won’t give away any spoilers but the story is thrilling with bikers, sex and witty dialog that most romance/erotic books lack. IMHO. If you want a good, steamy read, A Night In Daytona Beach is a good buy and a good read. I give 5 stars easy!

Hot Men, Tattoos, and KU…What more could you want?
I have to admit I’m more likely to stick to authors I know rather than venture out and read a new one. But this was an author recommended in Lucy Lennox’s reader group. Plus, M/M and tattoos? Kindle Unlimited? A series with siblings? I decided the deck was stacked way too high in favor of this book not to try it, and thank goodness I did. I LOVED this book! I finished in a matter of hours and immediately rushed to the second one. My only regret is the 3rd book isn’t out yet!
Heath is a tattoo artist. A gay tattoo artist who is out and proud. He has worked hard and sacrificed for everything he has. He spent his childhood protecting his younger brother and focused on surviving his druggie, neglectful parents. Heath now owns his own tattoo parlor with his best friend, “X”. His brother works with them and he has two other “adopted brothers” who also work at the shop. Heath does have a past. He did porn to afford to buy the tattoo shop. He isn’t ashamed of it but doesn’t shout it out either.
Ned is an emergency room nurse. He is a quintuplet. Meaning he has four brothers. ALL of them gay. Ned had an amazing childhood with his loving, supportive parents and his brothers. Ned has had several difficult relationships and a traumatic incident in college. He has decided he is better off alone and isn’t interested in a relationship. He is happy with his family and his job. Ned accompanies one of his brothers when he gets a tattoo, meeting Heath. Ned and Heath are instantly attracted to each other, but Ned is committed to his decision not to pursue a relationship. Heath has other ideas.
Ned is blackmailed into going on a date with Heath by his own brother. Ned finds himself agreeing to more dates with Heath. Pretty soon he’s in the relationship he didn’t think he wanted, but it is going better than he ever thought it would. There is a little bit of trouble in paradise when Ned learns about Heath’s past, but there is a happily ever after for this awesome couple.
Again, I loved this book. There was no angst (thank goodness!). The focus of this perfectly paced book was on these two well-developed characters overcoming the trauma of their past and giving into the depths of their feelings for each other. Each of these men has families, both of their choosing and biological, that play a huge supporting role in the book. We get a brief glimpse of each of the quints and the guys that work at the tattoo shop, and those brief glimpses will just leave you wanting more. This book has smoking hot guys, fire hot sex scenes, romance, laughter, and ALL THE FEELS.
I can only hope that each brother ends up with one of the men at the tattoo shop. I can’t wait.

A really interesting series of novellas!
Summer Angel – Who are Charlie and Bethany? Who is John? What is happening in their lives? Who is Clarisse? What journey does she take one of those three on and why? Things finally start to make sense as I realize what has happened. It makes my heart sad. Who is Gous? Who is Donna? You need to read to see what is going on.
Dark Angel – What we find out about Donna, who she is, what her family is like, and what has happened to her that makes her like Charlie is interesting. We find out more about Gous and the others as well. We see what is going to happen, to some degree, at least we’re told what needs to happen in order to make things right.
Forgotten Angel – After what happens with Clarisse, and promises that are made, how does it affect Charlie? What happens that puts Charlie and Bethany into a tailspin and on a road trip? Where are they leaving and where do they go to? What happens on the way there? What about once they get there? All I can say is I like Keeper and the enigma that he is. I cannot wait to read The Karma Set of this series of 9 novellas. Happy reading!
Karma’s Minion – Wow, all I can say about the start of this fourth story of the series is WOW. You always hear about not messing with Karma and we see how it comes back against Charlie in this one. What did he do that was so wrong to make Karma angry? What happens when Charlie goes to a cafe for a coffee and something to eat while his mother gets to sleep in? Who is Ms. Kapoor? What does she have to do with all of this and why? I like the Yin and Yang aspect of this story.
Karma’s Revenge – Wow, having just gotten a few chapters into this, and seeing Charlie and Clarisse meet up again and Dante’s part in their reunion was very interesting indeed. When Clarisse finds out what has been happening for and to Charlie and the decisions he has had to make caused things to get very interesting indeed. What happens when Gous shows up again? Things do get mighty interesting.
Karma’s Legacy – WOW! I did not expect what I saw in this third portion of this trio of books dealing with Karma. There is so much more going on than I anticipated or could have even dreamed about. You need to read this and see what happens, because I’m just like, “WOAH!”
Keeper of Truth – Holy smokes, this series of Summer Spirit Novellas keeps getting more and more intense! As I start to learn more about Charlie’s path maybe, I am more and more stunned and floored. We find out some things in this book that are good, and some that are scary. I am happy for Clarisse and Charlie and sad for Tabitha, Charlie’s best friend from his human life. If you have not read the first six books of this series of novellas you need to go read them before starting in on the Keeper Set.
Keeper of LIes – This book really had me questioning even my own sanity at some points. I felt like I was truly there and was losing my mind at the half-truths and deceptions that I am sure are going on but I cannot be positive of. I cannot wait to start the last book in this series to see how it ends!
Keeper of Oblivion – Wow, I did not expect that ending to the series. I love that there are things that keep it possible for something along the lines in the future to come. I love watching Charlie become the man he is meant to be. I love watching what he does and how he stands up for everyone that is different from them. You need to see how this turns out!

I fell in love all over again
I first read this book a while ago and went back to re-read it. I fell in love all over again. This character has been through so much, and all you want is for her to find happiness and love. She is beautifully written in a strong, independent way. I related with a few of her issues and was glad to see how she overcame them and moved on. Usually, you read about the virgin and ditzy wishy-washy main character. I was glad this author went with a ‘real-life’ woman who had ‘real-life’ issues. This book has it all. You laugh, cry, and want to reach through a few pages and throat punch a few people. Anxiously waiting for the next book!!!

AN EXCERPT!
They were almost inside the glowing archway. Its light felt warm and welcoming, like the rising summer sun. Treena stuck her thumbs in the straps of her khaki backpack as if it doubled as a magic parachute. Amanda mimicked Treena and grasped the straps on Jordan’s backpack that she was still wearing. Ravi was the only other person wearing one, so all the rest had nothing to break their fall if that light suddenly cut them loose.
The brilliant, fathomless glow swallowed Amanda, blinding her. Calm and silence overrode her senses. In that moment, two things happened—Amanda sensed that there was no separation between her and the others—as if they were all connected by these tiny threads of light. Second, she started to feel as though she were free falling, moving fast and out of control. She regained her vision, just as the white light exploded into a whirling rainbow.
Drake laughed. “Wicked! This feels like a ride at Disneyland!”
“It feels better than that!” Jordan replied. “I’ve been to Disneyland twice, and there’s no ride that even comes close to this!”
“It’s as if we can fly!” Treena shouted, doing a somersault in mid-air.
“It does feel wonderful, doesn’t it?” Melody said dreamily. Amanda grabbed both ankles and flipped herself over. She giggled. This freedom, this feeling, this flux was awesome. The huge, spiraling rainbow surrounding the group of seven gently juggled them in mid-air like floating balls in a never-ending lottery game. She glanced over at Jordan’s uncle. His cheeks were sucked in, and his body flopped one way then another like a fish out of water.
“Is your uncle okay, Jordan?” she asked.
Jordan maneuvered over to his uncle by spreading his arms and legs wide as if he were a free-falling parachutist. He grasped his uncle’s shoulder and shook him. “Uncle John? Uncle John! Don’t make me slap you again!”
He reached over, grabbed Jordan, and kissed him on the forehead. “It’s all true, Jordan! It’s all true!”
Jordan squirmed. “What’s true?”
“Time flows through us,” he answered, his voice cracking as if he were a young boy again.
The whirling rainbow burst into shards of light, and they all touched bottom.
It felt soft—like a cushy trampoline—as Amanda, her classmates, Melody, and Professor Lucas bounced easily until they all stood still. Then the ground became solid again. Polished marble walls and finely crafted pillars materialized through the fading light. A sudden high-pitched buzzing noise made her wince. Everyone seemed to hear it too; they cringed in unison. The sound of waves crashing against a shore replaced the buzzing, and a set of deep purple curtains miraculously appeared in front of them. Amanda rubbed her eyes. In the time it took her to take a breath, the curtains were drawn. The brilliant white light that had pulled them into the stone arch now hovered between the open curtains. It started to radiate out, then draw in, out, then in, changing its shape with each rhythmic movement, until it finally transformed into a woman.
The woman was beautiful in an otherworldly way. She had long, fair, flowing hair adorned with quartz crystals. Piercing blue eyes stared back at Amanda like she was peering into her soul. She had a long narrow face with high cheek bones that tapered down to a firm chin. Her nose was long and slender. Amanda smiled at her. The woman smiled back. Her teeth were white, small, and even. She was perfect in every way. A rich-blue sleeveless linen robe adorned her slim body, accentuating her ivory skin.
I wonder if she’s a princess. Amanda didn’t doubt it, especially with all the jewelry the woman wore. A sparkling metallic snake bracelet wound around her left arm, a string of gleaming pearls and shells hung around her neck, and a silver belt strewn with various green, blue, and red gems hugged her waist. The only piece of clothing that didn’t seem to belong was a plain pair of woven sandals.
Melody pushed Drake behind her and took a few steps forward. “I demand that you tell us where we are!”
The beautiful woman gave Melody a gentle smile, and nodded. She opened her arms wide and said, “Welcome to the Temple of Poseidon, in the City of the Golden Gates.”
Melody jerked. “I-I beg your pardon?”
“Atlantis,” Professor Lucas answered in a whisper. “We’re in Atlantis.”
