I am an avid reader of paranormal and I would certainly recommend this book. The story is an intriguing spin on fallen angels and demons. I can’t wait to see where the author takes these fallen angels and their soul-keepers. Along with Bass' soul-keeper Bree we are intoroduced to Bree's brother Sam and a new fallen angel, Hogart. The character development is handled well and a little more complicated in this book as the charactors are faced with self doubt, PTSD and questions about their own future. More secrets and complications are revealed creating more questions and another mystery.

The story, while of a grisly nature is well written. Ms. Drewa has painted a picture that may leave the readers shaking in their slippers and wanting to sleep with a light on. When the police throw a Christmas bash, it is merry mayhem as everyone is surprised by the grisly secret Santa gift. Although her cop boyfriend tells her repeatedly to stay out of it, Emlyn Good tries to figure out the mystery. After all, where else will she get material for her next book. As the story progresses, readers get to know Emlyn, her family and cats well. While it is clear that the characters have, for the most part, been introduced and developed previously, Ms. Solomon presented her characters in a way that I felt I knew them.

Gracie feels pressured by her father to join the family business; she's been hurt in relationships in the past and decides she's had enough of love for now. They both travel to Paris, and the romance begins.

It’s all about love, in a deeply romantic, almost silly way. Don't expect complicated plots, twists, and mystery on this love affair. I thought the author was clever enough to present the characters clumsily, but aside from that, I would’ve liked a bit more action. I am not a fan of the “tell don't show” approach, and I felt the author was leading me into what to think about the characters instead of letting us making an idea of our own. It’s a sweet story for all those hopeless romantics.

The two main characters were the perfect foil for each other - her, a tough and uncompromising mercenary, him, more in tune with nature and the spirits, though has a secret that must be kept.
