A young alien genius, Bantan S’kan, has no experience with females and is bitter over his kidnapping by pirates. He’s out to do as much damage to the pirates as he can. Then he meets her.
Leisha, a human female, is a non-commissioned officer on a S.U.N. scout ship. The young, rescued alien ticks all her boxes. Older than Bantan, she’s happy to further his education.
When her family’s summons comes, she leaves the ship and Bantan. The Arkalian doesn’t take rejection well. S.U.N. needs him, he needs Leisha. Can he hurt the pirates without losing his life? How can he have a life with Leisha and keep the pirates from finding them?

Adar Genn is out to gather as much as he can of both money and power. He needs it to make Krael’s vision for his war children a reality. The recession the universe is trapped in won’t make his task any easier. Still, the dream has taken hold in Adar. He has a lot of matters that he needs to deal with. Some will pay, others won’t. A few will drain his limited resources. But when a friend comes calling, Adar can’t say no.

The two main characters were the perfect foil for each other – her, a tough and uncompromising mercenary, him, more in tune with nature and the spirits, though has a secret that must be kept. Both intelligent, each with an agenda.
A discovery of a planet and the scene is set.
A well-written tale with themes such as slavery, politics and exploration, and romance with a touch of humour.
Looking for something different, this is for you.
Ivanda isn’t ready for a permanent relationship with anyone. She’s happy working as Ruket Remse’s bodyguard through the Life Foundation. Ever since basic, big arrogant males who think they know everything have turned her off. Nic’s big and broad. That’s enough for her. Females are more to her tastes like the cute little female she met in the bar.
Nic wants a female of his own. Every time he thinks he’s found the right one, he loses out to another crewmember. Having almost given up on the idea of finding his mate, he steps on board the Futura to prepare for a new mission and sees the one.

Another well written story. As always I get caught up in the story and think they end way too soon! I can’t wait for the. Next one to come out. It is so amazing to see the whole story unfold. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I always enjoy the creative writing that MacFarlane brings with each of her novels and this one is the best to date. The story revolves around Indi, A woman that has a talent for AI coding but no self defense training, who goes on a mission to retrieve a sensitive package for her captain but gets ambushed by three assailants. Her distress is picked up by Cenzzy, A Gossican species that, despite his physical appearance, easily manhandled the thieves. He takes Indi on board his ship and puts her in a med pod to heal. Cenzzy, like the rest of his kind, has a preference for humans to have as a mate but he’s been down that hyperspace route before and is struggling to behave. Once Indi awakens, she notices that she’s not on her own ship and is sure that Captain Maden will be furiously searching for her and the AI of her new ship is acting dangerously strange. The story has plenty of intriguing moments and several surprises that will keep you guessing. I highly recommend this one!
