PRIMED FOR REVENGE (SIDNEY JONES MYSTERY BK 1) CAROLYN BOWEN

Sidney was working on a case for her law firm but was abducted and now doesn’t remember her life before that. This novel starts off with a bang and does not slow down. There are elements of mystery, suspense and what’s a book with out a little romance? Throw in murder and some shady characters and you have a first class read to enjoy by the fire with cocoa or the beach with a cool cocktail!!! I enjoyed Primed for revenge immensely and anticipate the next installment. 5 stars for this exciting novel!!!!~ Karen VaughanPrimed for Revenge by Carolyn M. BowenPrimed for Revenge is a fast-paced story of the redemption of a woman fallen victim to mental and physical abuse. Ace attorney Sydney Jones found evidence a client wasn’t innocent but what she didn’t know it was just the tip of the iceberg of deceit that’d wedged itself within her firm. Primed for Revenge is a powerful story of a woman succeeding against the odds.
This story is plot-rich with plenty of action to keep you turning the pages. With well-developed characters, some you’d love to hate, and a fascinating behind the scenes look inside the legal world, Bowen pulls out all the stops to deliver a fascinating story. A must-read for conspiracy theory mystery fans.~ Elle Alouette

MIDNIGHT OWL VIV DREWA
The owl hoots at midnight. This signifies a murder waiting for a place to happen. Body parts have been found around town discarded in a grisly fashion. It is up to Joe Leverette, Phil Marsden and the CSI team to find out who the original victim is as well as preventing further murders.
The story, while of a grisly nature is well written. Ms. Drewa has painted a picture that may leave the readers shaking in their slippers and wanting to sleep with a light on. It is suspenseful and fast paced. You may have a hard time putting this one down once you pick it up! I give Midnight Owl five hoots and recommend it to mystery lovers everywhere

I enjoyed this murder mystery very much. It’s tightly-paced and humorous – a light, entertaining summer read that unfolds in a satisfying way. I particularly enjoyed the setting and would like to see more of the town of Niagra Falls in the author’s next story.

Emlyn is at it again, jumping headfirst into a murder investigation aided and abetted by her witchy ancestress, Sarah Goode (with the reluctant participation of friend Rebecca and their police-connected beaus.) She really can’t help it, though, since the deceased was one of her writing friends and the rest of the group–including Emlyn, who discovered the body–are the obvious suspects. The convoluted plot includes revelations of past skulduggery that tie in to the current mystery. Solomon leads us on her usual merry chase, with an abundance of clues but plenty of misdirection to keep the reader guessing. There are many hair-raising moments as Emlyn tends to leap before she looks, putting herself and her friends into danger, but it’s all good fun for the reader who’s watching the excitement from a safe distance.
