I haven't read all the books in this series, but they stand alone. Cougar Hunt takes the reader on a roller coaster of an emotional journey. Past struggles still trying to be dealt with in adulthood. The characters were each flawed, just as in real life, and had a lot to work through. Linda, aka Lrae, doesn't know how to let go of her past, and therefore it prevents her from a future she could have. She feels she doesn't deserve it. She battles to let anyone close to her heart. The walls are high.

There are many dimensions to this story- romance, intrigue, family, and relationships. The scenes and well created world are so well done you feel like you're there. A sweet, emotional read that grabs hold of your heart. Cherime is a talented author, and I look forward to more.
