I read “Grass and Blue Skies” literally in two days and absolutely loved it! I couldn’t put it down. First of all, the characters are extremely well written and I couldn’t help but admire Nikee’s bravery and desire to help people, even though sometimes deep inside she was having doubts about her not so legal activity – growing marijuana for medicinal purposes. But does a technically illegal operation matter that much if the girl is helping her father manage his pain after a bad accident, and also keeping other patients alive, who quite possibly could die of liver failure due to multiple medications they have to take?
Brett, a Navy pilot who suffered terrible trauma and is forced to quit his service and relocate back to Alaska, finds himself immediately attracted to this beautiful girl, and soon learns her secret. But it’s not only him who finds out about Nikee’s secret operation, and soon they both have to face the real danger of being robbed by a young thug…
The theme raised in this wonderfully written novel is particularly important: maybe the marijuana is not such an evil as everybody pictures it, of course if it’s used for a good cause, and what if legalizing it would indeed save people’s lives?
A very kind, sexy and inspiring story! I really can’t recommend it enough!
