If you’re tired of the same run of the mill romances then this one is certainly right up your alley. You won’t wind up with a huge drama that leaves you waiting for the happy ending. Rather, this romance is a lot more real to life than you can imagine. The characters are loveable, even with some of their eccentric behaviors, which is something that I especially enjoyed about the book. I also got a kick out of the humor that the author brought to the table. If you love romance stories but aren’t eager for the erotic elements that many novels have now-a-days, then this is right up your alley.
I read this book was taken from a screen play, which might be one of the main reasons it stood out to me. Of course, this means the dialogue is much stronger than you would find in other novels. Overall, you will keep a deeper storyline that is sure to impress.

They are great. I like that this book kept me wanting …
I just finished reading two of Author Michael Bussa’s books. They are great. I like that this book kept me wanting to try and figure out what was going to happen at the end. I didn’t figure it out, so the ending truly surprised me. Love an ending like this.

A short story.
One hot summer evening in Chicago, we went on a Ghost tour on Lake Michigan. Afterward, we were invited back to Mike’s house which was once owned by Al Capone and was haunted. This is the story of my experience in the house that hid, for that house did not care for unexpected visitors.

PREGO LAURA BLURB (2).jpg

Pete was in his kitchen grabbing a coffee. There was a knock at the door.
Expecting Gerry, his cousin and best friend, Pete just yelled out for him to come in. Pete rented a basement apartment in East Toronto. He basically had an open door policy for friends and family.

The door opened, but nobody yelled to their presence so Pete went out to investigate and was grabbed from behind.

"Time to pay up or pray to the deity of your choice. I would pick two or more if I were you. You're in deep shit to the eyeballs squid!"

Pete managed to garble out some words, "Let go Walter!"

"Yeah Walter, let him go so he can beg. I want to hear him grovel before I teach him a lesson in punctuality of payments and a thing or two about loyalty."

Walter let go, but pushed Pete to a submissive kneeling position in front of Lewis Parker. Mr. Parker had helped himself to a kitchen chair and was leaning his forearms across the back of it, so he was eye to eye with his prey.

"Now, Pete when I tell you a date by which I need a payment, it is not a suggestion, it's pretty much set in stone."

"I know Lew." Pete uttered.

"Let's not get too familiar here, it’s not a social call. We’re discussing your unwillingness to cooperate and not having a beer at Tony's."

"Fine .... Mr. Parker!" Pete spat out. “I'm sorry I'm late, but I got laid off. You know, no work no pay." Pete was letting his sarcasm slip out. He knew it might get him killed to say too much, but these goons were annoying him by not listening. If he had to go out, he would go out fighting.

"I'm not interested in the excuses Peter. Just pay what you owe and I'll be out of your hair."

"And if I don't?" There went his mouth again but he couldn't help it.

"Well that's easy really, if you refuse to pay I'm going to let Walter here take a few chunks out of your hide."

Peter had made the mistake of not taking Mr. Parker seriously and Walter went to work on him.

Saving Cassie–A Very Good Read****
First time reading a paranormal novel. Did not realize it when I purchased it. I was surprised that it held my attention throughout the book. In the past when I saw a paranormal book I passed it without even reading the introduction. In saving Cassie I was hooked from page one. I really loved the brother and sister relationship between Cassie and James. I felt their loving relationship added a lot to the story. I enjoyed Cassie’s feisty attitude the first time she met Logan when he stopped her for speeding. There were a lot of situations that Ms. Remenicky added to her story that made the book enjoyable for me. For instance, the way that Cassie’s grandmother could communicate with her and help keep her safe from the demon showed how much she loved her granddaughter. I enjoyed reading how Cassie and Logan’s love for each other developed over the weeks. I want to thank Ms. Remenicky for being able to read a book without any foul language included in the story. I also liked that Cassie was able to get pregnant and had a baby girl at the end—that was a nice surprise. I also enjoyed the book because the love scenes were tastefully done. For anyone who likes to read books without vulgar language and explicit sex scenes give this book a try. It even makes you laugh at times. I would read another of L.A. Remenicky’s books again.

A STORY OF LOVE, NATURE AND A DEEP CONNECTION TO THE EARTH-RELIGION OF TREES!

RELIGION OF TREES BLURB.jpg

Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
Lisa Borm’s novella Religion of the Trees is not what I had envisioned when I picked it up. But these four short stories that are tied together in that all the characters live on Harding Street.
Millicent, now an old woman, has an affinity for the trees, they offer her rejuvenation, vitality and a deep connection to life. She repays them by taking care of them, helping the young trees grow and, on the day, that a new baby is born on Harding Street, in the dark of night she plants a young tree on the families’ property. This tree grows with the child, bonds and helps the child find their path toward adulthood.
Ms. Borm has written these four short stories in such a way as to take this reader into the depth and breadth of the lives the trees touch. There is a depth of character, storyline, and understanding of the connection both nature and others bring to each of us that one would only expect in a wildly successful author.
The book is brilliant, rich in love, reconciliation, hope and is heartwarming. 'Religion of the Trees' was a profoundly enriching find. One that I will reread regularly.
I highly recommend this book as a powerfully told story and one that will stay with you long after you have finished. It will make you wonder what we as a society have lost when we gave up our connection to nature for the modern conveniences of today.
