Christmas Eve: Sweet Christmas Book Two was a good read by Samantha Jacobey. Candice and Gerald are getting ready to get married. One person trying to stand in their way is Gerald’s rich and powerful mom. When someone from Candice’s past threatens to hurt them, Gerald’s mom will either save them or bring their relationship to an end. I enjoyed reading Candice and Gerald’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a historical book, but I really enjoyed this short story that I read in one setting. We all have heard about the hardships faced by those that left the comforts of the east and headed west, but not like Ruth endured. But along the way, she met James! I loved her “get out of my way” take charge attitude when it came to Molly! Nice storyline and great characters! What a wonderful addition to my December Christmas-themed reading! I also enjoyed the element of faith!

5 Stars for Last Chance Christmas

Another winner from LA Remenicky! I didn’t get into the Christmas spirit at all this year, but as I revisited Fairfield Corners this week, I decided there was no reason not to read a Christmas Story in February, and I am so glad that I made the right call. I am in love with Fairfield Corners – such an idyllic small-town setting. Add in some rockstars and hot cops, what isn’t to love? This quick read stars one of Adam’s bodyguards from his touring days, and the sister of another. (And another totally cool dog as well.) Plenty of drama, and a touch of suspense, and a HEA in a beautiful Victorian setting. This could certainly be read as a standalone, but why not read Cassie and Ragan’s stories too? I absolutely adore this author, and hope we will see more books and novellas in the Fairfield Corners series – the town is so well described it could be another character in the series, and I adore it! If the weather could be 70 degrees year-round it would probably be exactly where I would want to live.

A beautiful book with a beautiful message

This is a beautiful book with a beautiful message about the power of love and showing kindness. It’s impossible not to love Jake from the first page. The love in his heart is so genuine. I’ve always been a fan of Ms. Hjort’s writing, and her first children’s book is no exception. The illustrations are lovely as well. My kids loved it, too, and I can tell it’ll stay one of our bedtime favorites.

It’s like good parenting lesson wrapped into a fun read. As a parent I’m always looking for books that teach my son in jolly ways. If we take Dr. Hjort’s book to heart, our children (not to mention adults) will go through life easier. Can’t wait to hear more from this author. She’s got the magic touch. Super cute illustrations too. Very clean. I’m ordering it for many people for gifts and will tell our elementary school’s librarian about this one and this author!

Fantastic dark fantasy

I’ve been in reading slump for a few months when I spied a post from Kevin about a different series. He was very kind telling me about Winters of Alnora.
I had previously read 3 of the Rosinanti series( books 1, 1.5 and 2). So I had a feel for the writing style of the author.
As a dark fantasy, expect dark themes throughout.
Kevin made it so easy to empathize with Alnora right from the opening lines. He can transport you to this world, I totally immersed myself in the story, when you actually feel cold just from the words you read, that is a job well done from the author.
This is a short story, it made passing time through a storm fly by.
I highly recommend Kevin’s books to any and all fantasy lovers. He puts a fresh spin on his books in a difficult genre to carve a path in.
I don’t know if there will be any more books in this series, but I would very much welcome more.
