I am going to confess to loving “Angel” stories. Eons ago I use to watch all of Michael London’s ”
Highway to Heaven” series and I ended up with tears in my eyes at the end of nearly episode. LOLWhile living, Rebekah was a drug addict who fell in love with Luke. Though Luke loved her, he walked away from her until she could clean up her act and become drug-free. She cleaned herself up and Luke ended up proposing to her. BUT one of Rebekah’s former drug buddies dumped a roofie into her drink. She ends up overdosing and dying in Luke’s arms. Luke was devastated and believed it was a relapse.

Feeling hurt and rejected and not wanting Luke to think that she was at fault, Rebekah made a huge fuss in heaven. Finally she was tasked with going back to earth to live amongst some mortals who desperately needed help and guidance. The deal was, IF she made a positive difference on earth, she would once again become mortal. If she didn’t, she would travel the downward road to hell.

What a great start to an angel story. The challenge for Rebekah is that the people she is sent to help out, are pretty hopeless. Will she be able to make a difference before her time runs out?

Author, Angela Gascoigne has done a FABULOUS job in creating a cast of characters with real problems, challenges and “devils.” I found myself turning pages faster and faster to find out what would happen. Will Rebekah redeem herself in the eyes of Luke? Will she get him back? Will she be able to stay on earth or will she be banished to Hell?

This is a great “feel good” story. Romance, love, friendship and redemption.

Leah was a rebel. She chose to live her life outside the constraints of 19th century English society. She rebuked any parental control and choose to decide her own fate. From England to the Caribbean and then frontier America, she was loved by family and friends yet still had enemies. Sailing the seas with pirates lurking about helped chisel her character as she created a life of her own near the sea.

Explore the scenic countries with Leah and learn of the native cultures and taste their delicacies. As a mixed race female, she placed prejudices under her feet and learned to recognize and accept love even if it was against the law.

Review of Cross-Ties

Wow, what an adventure! Admittedly, I’m usually not a big fan of these kinds of books (I tend to stick to the sci-fi and romance genres) but I decided to give “Cross-Ties” a chance and go into the read with an open mind, and I must say that it turned out to be a great decision. I could see early on, within the first few chapters, that the author is truly talented when it comes to weaving words into stories. The prose flows in a very smooth manner while conveying everything in very vivid way – I personally found it easy to visualize many of the scenes and also empathize and understand the feelings of Leah, the protagonist. I highly recommend ‘Cross-Ties’ to readers looking for a genuinely immersive and adventurous read. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future releases by Carolyn M. Bowen.

It was a beautiful and touching story. So much to tell about the greatness of this book; How can a miracle of gift a new life change the recipient and all the people around of them, You can't appreciate well your present if you don't let go your past and definitely I know that God work in mysterious ways, always extracting the greatness from the most painful things happened in your life. I believe in miracles, I believe that we have a soulmate, this person that only with a sigh you know. I love this book big time from the book cover(Hot ?Hot ?Hot?, the best choice ever, David Santa Lucia) until the end. Well, You just gave me one choice read all your books, Lol.
