Tom Roberts and his family were shocked when Tom was called to service. This story follows Tom and an owl who has special gifts to share. The author writes a touching story.
When Det. Roger Frey’s partner Jim is found dead in an alleyway, he makes it a personal mission to find his killer despite the chiefs admonition to stay out of it! Naturally Emlyn, Rogers friend and neighbor wants to use her newly found skills to find the culprit. A great story of suspense with a handful of humor thrown in for good measure. The Magic of Murder is a wonderful introduction to the Emlyn Goode series but watch out for Elvira she’s got catitude!!!! 5 star read

J. C. Powelson5.0 out of 5 stars The Golden Rule Coloring Book Rules!Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2021Verified PurchaseWhen my daughters were younger they enjoyed Sherrill Cannon’s original illustrated, “The Golden Rule” and all of her delightful children’s books. “The Golden Rule” is written in Cannon’s characteristic rhyming prose, which makes reading–and learning–fun! Both the illustrated and coloring editions help children learn about doing the right thing and treating other people well. The coloring book is a great way to teach children these important life lessons, but it also encourages their artistic skills. What better way to drive the book’s message home than to allow kids to color the line drawings in their favorite colors and customize the illustrations to fit their own style! The story itself is a great teaching tool, but the coloring edition allows children to be more interactive and strengthens the book’s valuable message.

but I love this portrayal of womenNovember 3, 2017 – Published on Amazon.comVerified PurchaseWell, the title is definitely something else, huh? Alright, this is my opinion, but I love this portrayal of women, I want women to think, feel and act as Lily does, because there is nothing more attractive than a strong and confident woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. There is something captivating in this story, the portrayal of all characters and the drastic changes from day to night make it for an awesome read, lessons are learnt in the hard way and in the end Lily would have to make a choice. Ultimately I think she chose right. There is a lot going on in this book and still, everything flows nicely, I love how detailed it was at moments, and especially I love how we see everything from the point of view of Lily, her thoughts and actions were interesting, this is a nice read you shouldn’t miss.

There’s a thread of unity amid battles, gunfights and arguments that is woven through this Sci-Fi Western novel from the beginning until the end. These factions are Silver or Green, something the inhabitants of Tonath find disheartening, because the disagreements about the correct star path leads to war and suffering. One character by the name of Brother Amos persists. As a Seeker, he’s rather impartial to war. In his opinion, a good map of the stars will provide clear answers and the best Pathway. Only time will tell which side, is correct about their assumptions. There are so many stars that need to be charted and many things to learn. We find him traveling with a group of Wayfarers, moving as far away from danger as possible. Among the Wayfarers is Venta, a single woman with a dream about building a refuge for divorced women called the Haven–and Jack Donald–a man with two hearts–from Thalia—another planet–who loves her. They need to escape the Green Marauders, Bentz and the Mechs so that Brother Amos can build an institute of his own and say, “We are neither Silver, nor Green. We are the Silver and the Green.”
C. Giguere5.0 out of 5 stars Haunting!Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2013Verified PurchaseThe story begins with Benita the first of several narrators who share their story as to why they are one of the faces behind the stone. As the reader is escorted around the cemetery, we listen to stories of alcohol, abuse, and suicide accompanied with a warning to readers about the consequences of apathy. It was the warning herald by Sam, “Hear my voice before you too wind up a face behind stone!” that sent chills down my spine. As I read on, I encounter more and more faces and was amazed at the author’s ability to give life to these tragic figures. People, this is a ghost story like no other!
If I had to compare this book to anything already out there, I would have to compare it to the play, Our Town. However, unlike OT the story doesn’t go in depth into the mundane parts of the characters. Faces Behind Stones gets straight to the point and starts where most stories end. From beyond the grave teens share their stories with the living, stories that went unspoken until now.
I wasn’t expecting something like this from Fran Lewis her stories are usually uplifting and witty, this however, was much more dark and tragic. Using fiction, I was pleasantly surprised at how she was able to tackle the issues that plague today’s youth. With a sympathetic ear, Fran listens to her characters and gives them a stage to tell their stories. Also in the end of the book, there is an appendix that helps educators and parents understand what’s going on in the teen world. This is a must buy for those working with or living with teens.
Such a helpful book!Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2017A wonderful, inspired book! I read it twice, cover to cover. I also purchased several other copies to give as gifts. This book has something for every person in it. When I first started reading it, it opened my eyes to a totally different way to view others and to love others. It is one woman’s journey through trials to finding a relationship with Jesus. I definitely recommend it to women (and men) of all ages.
Back for her college reunion, Deputy Marshal Marice Houston doesn’t expect to hook up with an old boyfriend. Nor does she expect to be a witness to a deadly assault, which was motivated by a decade old rape case.
M. M. Bishop Award-winning author and poet5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL CHARACTERS AND PLOT IN THIS ROMANTIC SUSPENSE-FILLED BOOKReviewed in the United States on September 18, 2019Verified PurchaseRoom 103 is the first book in a beautiful new suspense-filled romance series by Dellani Oakes. I love Ms. Oakes style of writing. She has such a flair for adding just the right amount of pulse throbbing romance into her suspense and murder filled tales. In-Room 103, we meet Deputy Marshall Marice Houston, who has gone to her home town to have a fun and relaxing weekend at her College Reunion. Little does she suspect that she will have to solve a murder, clear the name of a longtime suspect, and fall in love. All of Ms. Oakes books are well written, wonderfully edited, and enticingly romantic and filled with suspense, even in those books that are not mysteries you will find enough romance and suspense to add to whatever the plot happens to be. I loved Room 103 and fell in love with her new characters in this series. I can hardly wait to read Room 203.

The lyrics to Where u at came to me as I embarked on my journey of self-love & healing. Its human nature that we all want “bad boys” but I started to realize that the more I loved myself, searched for myself & focused on myself there were many different forms of “bad boys” even “good ones” so this song was my way of expressing myself to help inspire others to love themselves & eventually what is for you will find you

This little book of about 200 words will delight even the very young toddler. In this gentle story, illustrated by exquisite watercolors, Little Bunny learns that whatever he does is all right with Mother Bunny. Parents can use this story as an introduction to telling their own child that no matter what, he or she will still be loved.

A Child Can Relate
I think the storyline is ideal for young children. It is natural for a child to wonder, “What does a bunny do all day?” The book gives credible and understandable answers to the young bunny’s adventuresome day. Sweet drawings. I really like that the mother rabbit and the bunny are not depicted with long eyelashes and pointed noses as we often see in-store merchandise. This is a good bedtime story for a child because the last line reads, “Then she [Mother Bunny] fed Little Bunny his supper and put him to bed.”
It only took one look into his eyes for her to know she was in trouble. Adam Bricklin has heard the melody in his head for years, the melody that told him if a decision was right or wrong. When he met Ragan Newlin, the song told him she was the one. He was devastated when circumstances tore them apart. It had taken three years for Adam to finally move past the heartbreak he suffered when Ragan left town in the middle of the night. No note, no email, no text. She was just gone. Now he has a new girlfriend, a new album in the works, and his daughter is doing well in school. Until the day Ragan returned to Fairfield Corners. Ragan came home to celebrate her parents’ anniversary, hoping they would forgive her for not telling them about her marriage or her son. When she discovered that Adam was still living in Fairfield Corners she hoped her secrets were safe; secrets that drove her away three years ago, secrets that could change their lives forever.

She has a huge secret that she hopes they will forgive her for. She found out thatAdam still lived there and she was hoping he wouldn’t find out her secrets it affects him too. Adam was devastated when Ragan left town three years earlier. She left with no note or text. It has taken the last three years to recover from the heartbreak. Derek isn’t worried that Flynn isn’t letting him get close yet. All Derek needs is one chance to show Flynn how good they can be together. And he’s not stopping until he gets it. So Very Wonderful!
Flynn and Derek were wonderful!!! I loved book 1 in the Nice Ink series and Ride or Die was even better than book 1! Finally reading Flynn’s heartbreaking history totally explained his mysterious behavior from earlier. His guarded hope when he decided to give Derek a chance was so sweet and emotional. I loved Derek’s understanding and patience with Flynn! His devotion and determination to win over Flynn was so fun to read. The author did a great job with balancing fun, steam, chemistry and family with this book. I’m so anxious to read the next book in the series!
