Bought and read Amazing Amy. Kudos to author, Kathy Moczerniak and illustrator, Robin Gabriella Damiano! This is a well-written, beautifully illustrated, and sensitive portrayal of the author’s daughter and her challenges. While I don’t have an autistic child, my brother did. I wish I had been able to share this with them at the time. Really hits home that while different, autistic kids have gifts like all of us, and need understanding and kindness. Well done!

Couldn’t put it down

In this coming-of-age novel, Kathy fantastically gave us a look into the tumultuous life of a teen girl and her family trying to learn how to live their lives in their new “normal”. After suffering abuse and unsupportive friendships, Kathryn must learn how to cope and move forward with her life and the relationships in it. I felt that the situations that Kathryn dealt with were so much more realistic than the majority of the other books I have read; from dealing with her emotions to actually talking about her experience with a psychiatrist, this book can truly give hope to those who have experienced similar circumstances. It was an excellent read, and I can’t wait to see what else comes from this author!!!

Between the Trees holds such an incredibly honest and raw truth of coming of age in rural America. It is a struggle almost anyone can relate to that takes the reader on a journey of struggle, forgiveness and finding faith in love and the ability to trust again. It is incredibly beautiful, vivid, full of life, color and at times I could almost hear the music coming out of this new classic novel!! Kudos to the author!!

The greatest love of all

The world needs more books like this! Especially the world where kids form first impressions about people who are different: in school, church, at home, at community activities… What I liked most was the idea of helping kids with autism learn to love themselves through the story of Amy. As readers, we learn to understand why she does what she does, and that it’s OK. We fall in love with her ways. And as fellow human beings, we learn how to love others (and ourselves) along the way. Bravo “Amazing Amy” for making the world a better place. Will be ordering more of this book!
