LONE WOLF TALES DELLANI OAKES If you want a good look at the characters in the Lone Wolf series, you really need to read the collection of short stories that happened long before Lone wolf, Mark and Matilda worked together against the Kahlea and the Shakazhan. Reading the book, I gained a new appreciation for their past lives and the conflicts involved. I give the collection five stars and kudos to the author for weaving such complex back-stories for the main characters.

It is so well written and full of wonderful details that will pull you into Isla’s world and keep you guessing right along with her to the very last word. The world created is completely orginal and well developed. Just phenomenal. This book would be an amazing movie. I can see it so clearly in my mind. The planet, the buildings, the characters, all the tiny details, and the battles would be visually stunning. I’m such a fan of A. Nicky Hjort, and The City is another fantastic read from a very talented author. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and any other works by Nicky. Excellent, exciting, thought-provoking, enthralling read!

It’s somewhat similar to other dystopian novels, as it’s hard to be completely original, however, I found Hjort’s tone gave this story something different that I enjoyed exploring as I read each new page.

I first read this story as part of the Winter Lites collection. “Where Tyndra Turns to Ardnyt” is a true palindrome, a world mirrored backward and forward. This story is a standout reminiscent of the best works of Neil Gaiman and Charles De Lint, with the beauty of your favorite fairy tale and the brilliance of your favorite classic. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Azza as you share her journey. I can’t wait for the next novella to be released!
