NOW 99C – “The spice is good, and the characters end up being perfect for each other.” – My Grumpy Valentine by L.A. Remenicky

Ashley Sweet was living her dream—baking cupcakes and making plans to expand her bakery—until Thorton Hodges walked in with an offer she could, and did, refuse.

Dismayed at her refusal of his client’s offer, Thorn briefly wonders what the pretty young baker’s lips would feel like beneath his before immediately dismissing the idea. After all, fate only grants a man one true love.

Both Ashley and Thorn are hesitant to acknowledge the growing attraction between them until a near-disaster puts Ashley in need of Thorn’s help. Will Thorn be Ashley’s Grumpy Valentine or will he walk away?

Grumpy-Sunshine Love

I really enjoyed this grumpy-sunshine, age-gap romance. Ashley unintentionally wins Thorn over after he shows up to try to buy her bakery and recipe for a client. Thorn doesn’t think anything will work out because she’s so much younger than he is, but eventually, he changes his mind. The spice is good, and the characters end up being perfect for each other.

“Rescuing her cat was the least he could do seeing as it was his police dog partner that chased the cat up the tree. One look into Mirra’s eyes had him struggling to remember why they looked so familiar.” – Quin to the Rescue by L.A. Remenicky

Rescuing her cat from a tree was only the beginning.
When a dog chased her precious Princess Sookie up a tree, Mirra Walsh had no idea her cat’s rescuer would be her high school crush, Quin Lawson. Hoping he didn’t recognize her, she refused to tell him about herself, afraid he’d remember their disastrous meeting at the senior prom.
Rescuing her cat was the least he could do seeing as it was his police dog partner that chased the cat up the tree. One look into Mirra’s eyes had him struggling to remember why they looked so familiar.
When a drug dealer sets his sights on Mirra, Quin and his canine partner must rescue the damsel in distress in order claim her for their own.
