Life isn’t always sweet, even for girls called Candy. Two years ago, Candice’s life changed in a single night. The apartment she shared with her mother and special-needs son burned to the ground, forcing her to accept the help of a stranger. Gary Ford, her knight in soot-coated bunker gear, helped to save their lives, then gave them a home so they could recover from the loss. Convincing her to marry him, they wed on this past Christmas Eve and hoped that their lives had finally hit the plateau we all like to think of as normal. No such luck. This Christmas, Gary brings home another stray – a woman who claims to have proof that the fire that destroyed Candy’s previous home, as well as others, had been set on purpose. Can Gary help Caroline solve the mysterious case of arson before Candy tosses them both out on the street, or will Christmas Carol turn out to be the best friend Candy never had?

Life isn’t always sweet, even for girls called Candy. Candice Parker married Gerald Ford on Christmas Eve two years ago following a massive blizzard. The year before that her family was left homeless when a fire burned their apartments to the ground. Fortunately, fireman Gary had been on call and led the team that rescued Lanelle and Dakota from the blaze. Last year it all came to a head when Caroline joined their household as the nanny and housekeeper when she revealed the fire had been arson. Following the discovery, a sinister plot unfolded that almost killed them all. To say Candy is dreading the arrival of this typically happy holiday would be an understatement. However, she does have one thing going for her this year. Gary has convinced her to adopt rather than try for a baby of their own and a new addition will join their family just in time to change Candy’s view of Christmas forever.Pushing through her self-doubts, Candy must embrace the desire within her to become Joylana’s mother and champion for life, but will she have the strength to be the mom she wants to be after all the hardships she and Daks have faced in the past?

Christmas Joy: Sweet Christmas, Book Four was a great read by Samantha Jacobey. Christmas has been a hard time for Candice and Gary, bad things always seem to happen to them at Christmas time. Candy now dreads Christmas because she doesn’t know what bad thing will happen next. They are looking to expand their family and Gary has finally convinced Candy to adopt a child. Candy faces self-doubt in becoming Joylana’s mother. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more by Samantha Jacobey.
