This the first time reading this author and I look forward to reading more books by her. The characters, Tru and Deak, are well developed and engaging. Tru has pulled up stakes in California and moved to Alaska to homestead in a small cabin needing loads of work before winter. Deak is suffering from the accidental death of his wife. Together they are better than apart. His knowledge of the region and the locals allows Tru to get the help she needs without becoming too dependent on Deak. This story was engaging and hard to put down

Is Serena really a white witch, or slightly insane with grief? If she does have magic powers, can she use them to find her own lost love? Wow. This book is phenomenal. The writing is exquisite, and the storyline is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Little Livie is a shining star. I just adore her. It was suspenseful, shocking, and beautiful all at the same time. There are so many layers to Nicky’s writing. Highly recommended for a complex, thought-provoking read that goes so much deeper than a murder mystery.

Although this book is a standalone, it is more enjoyable if you read the first 3 books in the New Beginnings series. The hero, Ken, was introduced in the first New Beginnings book, while the heroine, Cassandra, is a new character. Ken is blind and the author does a good job of both showing the challenges a blind person may face, without invoking any feelings of pity. Both characters are likable and their relationship unfolds naturally.

At the same time, she learns about gratitude and how to appreciate the things most people take for granted. There is a chilling theme within the plot that challenges social boundaries, yet does add to the intrigue and at times, rather disturbing revelations. Suddenly danger looms, affecting millions and time is running out! Bailey faces complicated decisions which need to be made immediately.I found myself pausing at the end of each page, anticipating what was going to happen on the next. In fact, the drama builds as the story goes on, so it is important to read the series of three books in order. I will warn you, there is some violence, but it is not domineering. The author painted Bailey’s thoughts so precisely that I could easily view the world from behind her eyes. I applaud the author for creating such an energetic and independent young woman, as opposed to some of the weaker characters I’ve read in other books. This character encouraged me and gave me hope that I too, one day, may be as fearless as she. If you love strong women, you’re going to love Bailey as much as I do.I loved this book and am shouting out for you to read it!

Book review for Honey Babe

I SO enjoyed this book. It made me laugh, cry and think. I LOVED the characters. They all enter acted to really well. The lead male character, Les, touched my heart. He finds he has a son and does what it takes to get to see his son.
I would have liked if the story was a little more spicier. I would like to see a sequel about Andy and his wife. Or maybe how the parents of Les and Andy met and fell in love again.
