Their first couple of encounters don’t go well, but still, there is something between them and Joel is determined to pursue a relationship with Courtney. This book delves into PTSD (which both Joel and Slade suffer from) and the difficulties living with it.

The worst part of this book? It is too short. Just as we have been getting things developed in the characters, the locations, the relationships, the author cuts off the story. Much like a Saturday Matinee… See you next week!! Uggg…

The story is basic Zombie Outbreak with introductions to the main characters, the history of the area and what is happening now. Add a few standard plot devices and viola, instant story. Now, this isn’t to say it’s like all the others, there is enough to make it fresh and worth the time to read. I am sure to pick up any and all books in the series as they become published.

All in all, a great ride, not too much gore, a touch of romance here and there, oh, and Zombies.

This was a fun read. I read it on a trip to Florida after stocking my Kindle with romances to read while on the beach. I enjoyed the magical elements of Across the Wilderness such as, the antique bed which allows the heroine to time travel when she sleeps. It reminded me of the bed in the movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks movie except this one is set in a romance novel and takes the heroine to the western United States smack dab into Indian country. If you went to sleep in a magical bed which could take you back in time where would you hope it would take you? This was just one of the questions which entered my mind in between reading the story.
I like stories which engage my imagination in this way and this one kept me wondering. I kept wondering when and where she would wake up and what adventures and challenges she would face next. And that for me, was fun.

I’ve read a few books by L.A.Remenicky, and I must say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all. Ms. Remenicky has given us another great story that will suck you in and keep you there from start to finish and then leave you wanting more from this author. Ms.Remenicky has written characters that feel so real that as you read about them, you start to feel their pain, and at the same time, you can feel the love that they have for each other. Invisible is Elaine and Jax’s touching story. They both know each other from high school, Elaine is asked to tutor Jax in Geometry, but when he asked her to go out, she was so frilled about it. But then she comes home after the date an incident happened with her stepfather Keith, he started to lay into her, and poor Elaine ends up being beaten with a baseball bat. And she ends up in the hospital, while Keith is arrested.B ut when she is released from the hospital she decides that she must disappear, so she changes her name and starts to hide away because she knows Keith will come after her. It’s been 10years now, and poor Elaine is still hiding away, and Jax has joined the police force now. But then one day he’s shot and ends up having to go to a therapist, and to his surprise, the therapist turns out to be Elaine.B ut soon Elaine finds out that Keith has been released from jail and in no time she knows she must move on. So she and Jax leave to hide out again.
